October

We love fall!

October is probably our favorite month around here. This year, not only did we get to celebrate our birthdays and Halloween, but we enjoyed Dyson and Hannah's wedding as well. Here are the photos from the rest of the month.

Birthdays and Halloween

October is a fun month for the Nicklaus family. Brian's birthday was on the 21st and my birthday was on the 31st (Halloween!). We had a lot of fun celebrating both of our birthdays and dressing up for Halloween.

Colton did go trick-or-treating last year when he was 8 weeks old. However, he slept through it. This year he enjoyed trick-or-treating dressed as a little monster!

Birthdays
We celebrated Brian's 30th birthday as a family. We took Colton to a park and enjoyed a lot of family time! I got Brian 30 gifts to celebrate the big 3-0. (Many of them were pretty small like candy, chips, or the Dr. Pepper can cake).
We celebrated my 28th birthday in a similar way- we enjoyed the day as a family and went out to eat. Brian and Colton got me beautiful flowers as part of my gift!
Halloween
Colton got to wear his monster costume multiple times! The first was when we went trick-or-treating with Brian at his work.
Learning how to take candy
Family photo at Nationwide!
He loved taking candy from the bowl and putting it in his bag. (...He still doesn't know what candy is).
Colton helped me get the candy bowl ready for trick-or-treaters.
He enjoyed putting them in the bowl... then dumping them out and starting over. :)
Colton put on his monster costume again to trick-or-treat through our neighborhood.
He is just so cute!
Inspecting the candy bowl.
That night we also had a Halloween party. Brian and I decided to dress up too, and even Baby #2 got in on the costumes! Brian and I went as baseball players and Baby #2 is the baseball.

Dyson and Hannah's Wedding

Dyson and Hannah got married on October 24th in New Buffalo, Michigan. They had an outdoor ceremony at a beautiful golf course. It was a perfect fall setting- the scenery was perfect! Colton was the world's most adorable ring bearer. We had a wonderful time celebrating with Dyson and Hannah and our families!

Here are a few pictures from the wedding weekend. Note: there aren't any pictures of the actual wedding or reception. Which means no fancy photos of Dyson and Hannah in all their splendor. I was enjoying the wedding and left picture taking to the actual photographer! :) So these are random ones from the weekend. Featuring Colton, of course.

Road Trip
Overall, Colton did very well on the drive. He slept for a lot of the trip, which was very helpful. We took a few breaks to let him run around. (And eat snacks, of course)
He enjoyed climbing on some fake rocks at the world's largest truckstop.
He gave a stuffed lion a hug.
And he ran through the candy aisle.
