2 Month Update + Halloween

There have been a lot of exciting events lately in the Nicklaus household. Brian and I both had birthdays, Colton turned 2 months, we celebrated Halloween, and we took a trip to Pella!

Colton's Two Month Update
  • He weighs 14 lbs 9 oz and is in the 91st percentile for weight. (Big boy!)
  • He is 23 1/4 inches and is in the 60th percentile for length.
  • His head circumference is still in the 98th percentile.

Halloween! And Birthdays!

Brian and I both have October birthdays (his is on the 21st and mine is on the 31st). To celebrate, we went out to dinner while our friends Jen and KayDee watched Colton. Before we went to dinner though, we took Colton out for his first time trick-or-treating!

Des Moines calls their trick-or-treat night "Beggars' Night" and this year it was on the 30th. We dressed Colton up in his Frankenstein's monster shirt and went trick-or-treating at our friend Rachel's house. He slept through the whole thing, but he still got candy!

Unimportant side note: The idea of Beggars' Night is the ONLY thing I don't like about Des Moines. With a Halloween birthday, I feel very strongly that trick-or-treating should happen ON Halloween! :)

On Halloween night we went to a costume party. Brian and I went as football players and we dressed Colton up as our adorable little football.

Pella

Brian's sister and brother-in-law recently moved to Pella, so we took a day trip to visit them! Here is Colton being very excited to see Aunt Laura and Uncle Ken:

Other Random Happenings

AKA here are more adorable pictures of Colton. :)

Some quality time with his daddy.

Pouty face

Happy little pirate

He loves his bouncer and his yellow blanket

Just hanging out at Caribou

Colton helping out with the laundry. He fell asleep on the job.

Holding his little giraffe toy (...that I put in his hand. I'm not sure he's aware that he's holding anything)

Nap time on his daddy

He smiles more and more!

Not sure what this expression is...

More pouty face

Colton had his first playdate with Baby Owen. They were completely unaware of each other, but one day they will be good friends! Owen is about 5 months old and much more mobile than Colton right now (hence the blurriness- that boy is on the move).

LOOK AT THIS FACE! He is so cute.

Not sure what Colton is thinking with this expression, but still adorable.

Tummy Time (AKA "Lick my hand repeatedly time")

Sleepy cuteness
