All About That Baby

All about little baby Nicklaus #2!

Our second little baby BOY is due mid-February. February 16th is our official due date but we will see when he actually arrives. :) As of today, I am about 24 weeks along. We already love this little guy and we can't wait to meet him!

So far this pregnancy has gone pretty well. I no longer get nauseated a lot with morning sickness (er... all-the-time sickness). However, I have a LOT of food aversions this time around! Even foods I normally love (like chicken) often sound gross to me. When I was pregnant with Colton, I craved fruit and cold water and ice. So healthy! This time I mostly want chocolate, ice cream, candy, and anything that is terrible for me. Also, pickles.

The hardest part about this pregnancy has been the exhaustion. When I was pregnant with Colton, the second trimester was awesome. I felt great and had a normal amount of energy. This time around, it seems as though I am always tired. Maybe it has something to do with chasing a little wild tornado toddler all the time... ;)

I have been feeling a lot of kicks and jabs from this little guy! It's been fun to feel his movements more.

September

September is a very fun month for the Nicklaus family! Colton's first birthday was on September 2nd and Brian and my two-year anniversary was on September 6th. We also enjoyed a vacation with the Nicklaus family in southern Missouri over Labor Day. And we had a surprise party for one of our friends!

Here are pictures from our many September adventures.

Celebrating Our Anniversary
We went out to dinner to celebrate our second anniversary. We went to a Mexican restaurant which, of course, means insane amounts of chips and salsa. Colton thoroughly enjoyed the salsa- he ate it by the spoonful!
Kid. Loves. Food.
Colton Playing with Birthday Presents
Colton got an awesome slide from Grandma and Grandpa Nicklaus! At first, he was mostly interested in the cardboard box...
...but then he realized how much fun it is!
He loves to try and climb UP the slide.
We borrowed a ball pit from some friends for Colton's birthday party. Of course we had to test it out at home first. As you can see, Brian also enjoyed it. (Also, our friends were going to sell it, so we bought if from them for Colton's birthday present! Now he can enjoy it all the time.)
Colton loved his birthday cards- we STILL read them throughout the day. They are like very short books. His card from Great Grandma Tammy and Great Grandpa Rob plays music, so of course he has been obsessed with it.
More cards!
Colton got a drum and music set from Great Grandma Barb and Great Grandpa Mike. He LOOOOOVES it with his whole baby heart.
Playing with trains from Great Grandma Barb and Great Grandpa Mike!
Labor Day Weekend with the Nicklaus Family
With Grandma Carol
Beach Baby!
Hanging out with Daddy at the beach
Swimming fun! (Ok... Colton doesn't look like he is having much fun. But he did. I promise.)
More Daddy time.
This was one of my favorites from the weekend. Brian was resting (ok, sleeping) and Colton wanted to be near him. I love his little arm propped on Brian's pillow.
Colton Destroying Things
Unrolling toilet paper...
Who me?
And again.
Playing in laundry as Brian tries to fold it and put it away. (Did I mention how awesome Brian is for always helping with laundry all the time?!)
Ruining laundry while *I* try to clean.
Taking clothes out of his laundry basket and throwing them around the room.
Hello, empty laundry basket.
Dragging around a bag of bread.
I guess this is the opposite of destroying things. This time, he is attempting to help sweep! It's his new chore apparently.
Library Time! (AKA: We love the library!)
Playing at a library class
Blocks!
Trying a puzzle
He loves chairs. So much.
See? Colton LOOOOOVES the library!
Melissa's Surprise Party!
We were part of an awesome surprise party for our wonderful friend Melissa. Colton has so much fun playing at the playground while there.
Uh, that's not how slides work, kiddo.
Watcha eatin' there, Lydia?
Baby (toddler) friends
Happy birthday, Melissa!
